The Himalayan University, Jollang, Itanagar organised its 6th Convocation on 4th May, 2024 with great elan and grandeur. 1036 students and 34 Gold Medallist of session 2023 were conferred with their respective degrees. The convocation was graced by Prof. Tomo Riba, Vice-Chancellor, Arunachal Pradesh University, Pasighat as Chief Guest; Guest of Honour Swami Vedasarananda Maharaj Ji, Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Hospital; Special Guest Prof. H D Yadav, Vice-Chancellor, SPU, Sikkim; Shri Ibom Ete, President, Arunachal Pradesh Pharmacy Council; Dr. A K Mishra, SLO NSS, Higher & Technical Education, Govt. of Arunachal Pradesh. Prof. K. Venugopal Rao, Honโble Vice-chancellor, declared the convocation open, administered the oath to the awardees and after the release of the Convocation Souvenir, presented the Annual Report of the University.
8-April-2024 - ๐๐๐ฉ๐ญ. ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ญ๐๐ง๐ฒ, ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ - On behalf of HU, we congratulate to Dept. of Botany and Dept. of Agriculture for uplifting the cultivation of Mushroom by building Mushroom House under the Skill Enhancement Course (SEC) under the supervision of Dr. Asha Pertin, Assist Prof. HU. We ensure that such type of worthy initiatives in the field of Agriculture will definitely take the Agri habitat of the tribal states to its new heights.
3-April-2024 - ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ฆ๐๐ง๐ญ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐, ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ (๐๐) - organized One day โAcademic Tour" for B.Sc (Agriculture) final year students on 27th Mar 2024 to Nya Gogra Tea Factory, Gohpur, Assam. Dr. Raja Husain, HoD, Dept. of Agriculture, HU led the tour along with his team of Assist. Prof. of HU named Dr Kasinam Doruk, and Mr. Lishi Kaki.

27-March-2023 - ๐๐๐ฉ๐ญ. ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ฆ๐๐ซ๐๐, ๐๐ in collaboration with ESA Academy has organized one day counseling on civil services examination whereby the expert conducted a demo class on UPSC/APCS and APSSB. Congratulations Mr. Dumo Lollen sir, HoD, Dept. of Commerce for initiating the same.
20-March - ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐จ๐ฆ๐ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐ ๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐ฆ๐ฉ @ ๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐๐ค ๐๐๐๐ - HU Fashion Ramp where we explore the intersection between fashion and identity in ways that highlight diversity, empowerment and inclusivity.

19-March - The Literary Team of Kriti 2024 today successfully completed the two day literary events in the HU. The events included debate competition, quiz competition, extempore speech, poetry recitation, handicrafts competition, painting and photography competition.
18-March - Have a glimpse of Sports, Literary and Cultural Meet 2024. Opening Ceremony Dated 18-March at Jollang Campus, Himalayan University, Itanagar.
๐๐๐ฉ๐ญ. ๐จ๐ ๐๐จ๐ญ๐๐ง๐ฒ, ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ - The students of Botany Department participated in High End Workshop on Novel Approaches for Enhancing Shelf Life of Perishables 26th February-10th March 2024, sponsored by DST-SERB, organized by Department of Post Harvest Management College of Horticulture and Forestry, Central Agriculture University (I) Pasighat, Arunachal Pradesh. During this almost 2 weeks long workshop the students learned about various techniques in handling the shelf life of perishables.

24-Feb, Dept. of Agri, HU - Glimpse of ELP during this week. We have successfully started the Experiential Learning Program (ELP) for BSc Agriculture final-year students. This year our students are working on Apiculture, mushroom cultivation, production and cultivation of various crops such as French bean, okra, pumpkin, cucumber and other horticulture crops. This year we also started the unit of Preparation of Vermicompost. Best Wishes to all Agri students.
10-March - Dr. Bengia Mamu, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Botany, HU represented the University in the Northeast Green Summit which was held on 10th March 2024 at the Legislative Assembly, Itanagar. On behalf of HU, we congratulate her for actively participating in the event and interacting with various delegates of the summit.
6-March,2024 - One Day Awareness Programme on Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation, organized by HU under the aegis of Central Bureau of Communications, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India, Regional Office, Itanagar held at University Campus, Jollang, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh.
28-feb-2024 - ๐๐ข๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐๐ฒ๐๐ง ๐๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐๐ญ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐๐ซ - Have a glimpse of the Science Model Presentation Competition held during the occasion of โNational Science Dayโ (NSD), 2024. A total of 24 students were declared winners securing first, second, and third positions in several events.

The programme was witnessed as Chief Guest by Dr. Devendra Kumar, Regional Head, G.B Pant National Institute of Himalayan Environment, North East Regional Centre along with Prof. Vijay Tripathi, Registrar, HU and HOD's and faculty members from different departments.
20-Dec-2023 - Himalayan University, Department of Botany acknowledge and thank the Department of Agriculture for demonstrating seed application of biofertilizer. The B.Sc and M.Sc students who enrolled under the course of "Bio fertilizer" as a Skill Enhancement Course ( Botany) learned the skillful technique under the guidance of Dr. Sombheer Chak, Assistant Professor, Agronomy, Department of Agriculture. We are highly thankful to @~Dr Raja Husain for providing the necessary collaboration and favor in time.
21-12-2023,Arunachal Pradesh: Himalayan University, Jollang conducted awareness cum workshop on VIKSIT BHARAT @2047. As the Hon'ble Prime Minister, Shri. Narendra Modi Ji launched Viksit Bharat@2047 on 11th Dec 2023, Himalayan University (HU) organized one day Awareness cum Workshop on Ideas for the Vision VIKSIT BHARAT @2047 on the Topic: โEducation, NEP 2020 and Viksit Bharatโ on 21-12-2023. HU Deputy Director, Mr. Kido Bagra inaugurated the program and felicitated to the Chief Guest, Shri. Joram Muthu, Joint Director, Directorate of Higher and Technical Education, Itanagar, A.P with flowers and a memento. Mr. Bagra introduced the awareness and importance of โEducation, NEP 2020 and Viksit Bharat.
On December 27th, 2023 - Mr. Basanta Bagang, a student of MA 1st Sem, Dept. of Education, achieved a Gold medal in the Individual Kumite event for male seniors (75 kg category) at the 4th Arunachal Pradesh AMATEUR KARATE Do-Association (APAKA) Karate Championship 2023 held at Badminton Indoor Hall in Pasighat, East Kameng District, Arunachal Pradesh on December 27th, 2023.
18-Dec-2023, Itanagar - The Department of Botany successfully conducted One Day Special Lecture Program on 18/12/2023 at New Auditorium of the University. The resource person of the event was Dr. Joram Aku, Scientist B from DBT Kimin. Overall 75 members including students and faculties from various departments joined the program and interacted with the Resource Person.

In the same programme Hon'ble Governor Shri. KT Parnaik said that โViksit Bharat@2047โ is the driving force for every Indian, particularly the youths, to find solutions to every challenge, innovative ideas to march forward, and vision to plan out strategies to be a developed, progressive, caring nation and a world leader by 2047.

Prof. Sharma met with Dr. S.D. Gurumayum, Scientist E, Dr. G. Srinivasan, Scientist E, and Dr. Temjenmongla, Scientist D at ZSI - APRC, Itanagar to have collaborative research projects at the postgraduate and doctoral levels, as well as the interchange of faculty and students throughout different teaching segments, training, and practical sessions.
