Hon'ble Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig.(Dr) B.D. Mishra (Retd.) has inaugurated the convention. Besides the principal functionaries and chief executives associated with Rambhau Mhalgi Prabodhini and Himalayan University (HU), over two dozen dignitaries from across India, and numerous participants and delegates belonging to about 18 States of India (essentially including those from various northeastern States), have enthusiastically participated in the admirable convention. This innovative convention focused on various issues and hassles which had been responsible for the disgustingly low progress of the north-east region mainly in the sectors of educational, social, industrial, and economic developments. The recent initiatives taken in this regard by the regional and Central Governments were also cited. And then, stipulated were the viable road maps for the desired transformation of the region, together with the possible measures for strengthening bonds and integrity of the northeastern States with the rest regions of the country. Citing and reiterating Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi's statement that "unless North-Eastern region develops, India will not progress", the Governor has also emphasized that the innovative and sustainable ideas discussed in the convention must be reflected in action in the fields, and the socio-economic benefits thereof should equitably reach to the targeted population. During the convention, Dr. Jitendra Singh urged the youth of the northeast India to make the best use of India's "North East Industrial Promotion Policy", as well as the special budgetary support offered to the industry.
