University Research and Development Cell

 

Himalayan University's Research and Development (R&D) Cell plays a pivotal role in fostering a culture of research and innovation within the institution. The R&D Cell act as a central hub for cultivating strong research culture.

 

Objectives of R & D Cell:

i. Promote Interdisciplinary Research: Encourage collaboration across various disciplines to tackle complex problems and foster innovative solutions.

ii. Identify Thrust Areas: Determine key areas of research focus for each department and form cluster groups or consortia to drive research forward.

iii. Generate Innovative Ideas: Develop solutions to academic and societal problems through research and innovation.

iv. Develop Research Infrastructure: Modernize laboratories with cutting-edge equipment and technology to facilitate research activities.

v. Establish Industry-Academia Linkages: Foster partnerships with industry, research organizations, and academic institutions to promote research and innovation.

vi. Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Awareness: Create awareness about filing patents and IPR among researchers.

 

Mission of R & D Cell:

The mission of an R&D Cell is to cultivate an environment conducive to heightened research productivity, nurture a spirit of collaboration, and facilitate access to research resources and funding opportunities. This aligns with the goals of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes the importance of research and innovation in higher education.

Enhance Research Productivity: Increase publications in reputable research journals and promote collaborative research initiatives.

Develop Research Ecosystem: Establish a robust mechanism for developing and enhancing the research ecosystem, aligned with NEP-2020 principles.

Foster Industry-Institute Interactions: Organize talks, sessions, and workshops by industry experts to enhance understanding of research methodologies and promote industry-academia collaborations.

Support Faculty Development: Provide incentives for research publications, support faculty in delivering talks and conducting workshops, and encourage faculty to enhance their core competencies
